Medical underwriting is a process that determines eligibility for coverage based on an applicant’s responses to a series of health related questions on the application.  Medical underwriting only applies to applicant’s age 65 or older who do not qualify for guaranteed acceptance.

Medicare Advantage plans cover all services you receive under Original Medicare (Part A and Part B), and many plans include vision, dental and hearing benefits. Some plans also include prescription drug benefits. Medicare Supplement plans (Medigap) cover the costs Original Medicare leaves you to pay. These costs can include 20% coinsurance and your Medicare Parts A and B deductibles. Your coverage works together with your Original Medicare Parts A and B benefits and does not include prescription drug benefits.
